For the three storey building on 255 Tongren Road our client’s intention has been to only use the majority of the first floor and parts of the second floor for the new bar & restaurant, while the remaining space is changed to office space.

The functions of the new bar and restaurant include the main bar area with DJ and performance stage on the ground floor and upstairs seating as part of a wine lounge space, support facilities and small kitchen which serves the landscaped front patio area as well as the main space.

The design style incorporates elements of a 1920’s speak-easy for the main bar on the ground floor while the upstairs lounge features elements of 1920’s Shanghai “Opium Den”. Both styles are blended with modern features to create a relaxed yet intriguing atmosphere.
